Back to Meet the Artists

Mimi Dickson

I’m an illustrator, collage artist and nurse based in East London, though I grew up in Scotland. My work centres on the instinctive ways we try to create a sense of home, not always a roof and four walls, but the people, rituals, and small objects that make us feel grounded.

As a child I spent hours building dens, fairy houses and filling my dolls’ house with improvised treasures, and my younger self would be so excited to know that I would still be painting years later and get to call it work! I use watercolour, gouache, and collage to make miniature, intimate scenes that celebrate the everyday, especially the humble kitchen table that daily life can often revolve around.

I take great comfort in having creativity as a therapeutic outlet, and I feel incredibly fortunate to spend my time doing two things I believe in so deeply, through both art and healthcare. I hope these stickers provide a bit of both of those to you too, some time for creativity and self care, taking time for yourself to enjoy your imagination and small moments of joy.
